Simple “Fried” Chicken (with Steve’s PaleoGoods)

Steves-PaleoGoods-LogoIf you haven’t tried Steve’s Paleo Goods, then you are missing out!  I received a package from Steve and have had so fun much sampling the products.  By the way, BEST beef jerky, hands down!  Also, the meat sticks were a family hit ~ they are like healthy versions of the Slim Jims you used to buy at 2 in the morning at 7-Eleven back in the day!

Below is a recipe using the Maple Mustard and the PaleoKrunch Cereal (Original).  This is super easy and extra yummy!

  1. In a gallon plastic bag, place Maple Mustard and chicken legs.  Refrigerate for at least an hour (up to overnight).
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  3. In a small food processor or blender, grind down the PaleoKrunch Cereal to a flour-like consistency.  Add coconut flour, sea salt and cayenne pepper and give it a whirl to mix. Transfer mixture to a wide, shallow bowl.
  4. Put legs in a strainer to rid any excess marinade.  Coat legs in the “flour”.  Place in a greased baking dish.
  5. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.  Turn legs over and continue to bake for an additional 5-10 minutes allowing the internal temperature to reach 165 degrees F.
  6. Let rest for about 5 minutes.  Garnish with thyme if desired.
  7. Enjoy!

  3. Ever wondered what our ancestors used to eat?
Ever given a thought to how our forefathers survived without modern amenities to cook food, and still managed to do all that intense physical work?

You are not the first person to be pondering on these baffling questions. And the answer is they used to eat what we now call the Paleo Diet. The Paleo diet revolves around the idea of eating the way that our ancestors ate, though the idea of getting back to the basics appeals to many people, they may not know where to start. Fortunately, Paleo cooking has gotten a lot more popular over the last few years, and as a result, there are a number of different cook books out there. With so many to choose from, however, how can you make sure that you are getting the cook book that you require? I recommend trying The Paleo Recipe Book.
