Ladle: paleo and gluten-free comfort soups
UPDATE: 6/26/2016 ~ now available in paperback on Amazon. Pick up a copy HERE!
Yay! I wrote an ebook, Ladle! I am so proud of this compilation of soup/stew/chowder/and a lot of other yummy comforting recipes. Read more HERE.
Some of the recipes are some oldies but goodies…and then there are a whole lot of new ones. If you’ve been following Cavegirl Cuisine, you know I had to add a Reuben Soup…I’ve made a Reuben Benedict and Reuben Meatballs in the past, so it only made sense that I create a soup too. And it was good! 🙂 Another favorite of mine that came from a suggestion of one of my daughters was a Hamburger Soup…it is even garnished with pickles (it sounds weird, but don’t knock it till you try it!).
Soups have hands-down become my favorite meal to make over the past several years. No matter your lifestyle or diet or restrictions, soup fits right in. I like to think of soup as a transitional meal. So many times, especially as women, we will decide to follow a “diet,” and the only reception from our family is a bunch of groans. The great thing about the Paleo lifestyle is that it naturally includes meats and healthy produce. How can you go wrong with this combination? No more making a meal of a dry chicken breast and bland broccoli for yourself while your family chows down on some mac-n-cheese. Teach them to eat healthy. Fix only one meal. Introduce your family members to new foods while at the same time keeping some things familiar…like chicken, beef, celery, onions, tomatoes, and just a great flavorful broth. That’s not so scary, right?
Fresh veggies, clean meats, seafood, and fresh herbs and seasonings fill not only your bowls, but also the house with smells of comfort and home. Over the pages of this book, I hope you will be able to learn how to create fabulous soup bases and learn how to incorporate your favorite additions to create some hearty and soulful bowls of love!
